Reasons Why
- Relatable Characters: Many people are seen differently then they actually are. Most people are based off of material things. I believe people should read this book because it has characters that just about anyone from any back round can relate to. “We're actors in our lives, pretendin' to be who we want people to think we are.” In Perfect Chemistry the characters are masked so people don't know who they really are. They're afraid everything will change if people find out what they're really like. I believe that this is what people are like in real life.
- Quick Moving Plot: Right off from the beginning of the book there is action. The book moves along quickly and it doesn't take forever to start. I believe this is a great reason why because it makes it a book you would not want to put down. It makes you want to keep reading so you can find out more and get farther into the story.
- Point of View: The really fantastic thing about this book is you get the point of view of both Alex and Brittany, so you know what they both are thinking. on certain situations. “I want to try making things right because picking up the pieces is way better than leaving them the way they are.” This is a quote from the book where Brittany and Alex get into a huge fight about Alex being in the Latino Blood. Brittany wasn't ready to give up on Alex. “I want to know how to make this girl laugh. I want to know what makes her cry. I want to know what it feels like to have her look at me as if I’m her knight in shinning armor.” This one is from Alex when he first starts falling for Brittany. It's really good to know both of their points of view, it makes the book more interesting to read.
- Suspense: The suspense in this book is killing. Simone Elkeles likes to make you wait for what you really want to find out. In some ways she keeps the suspense going through all three of the Perfect Chemistry books that tell the story of each of Alex's brothers. It makes you want to keep reading. Once you start reading the book you wont be able to put it down until you read all three of them, and then you will wish they never ended.
